Port Gamble Weddings Seasonal Assistant Opening

Port Gamble Weddings has an Employment Opportunity!

As a Weddings and Events Seasonal Assistant, you will gain knowledge in day-of wedding and event set-up and preparations. Port Gamble is actively promoting itself for festivals and special occasions. This position also allows - at times - to aid in some of the creative aspects of preparing and advertising our weddings and events. In our effort to actively promote Port Gamble, employees (including seasonal staff) often attend Wedding Shows, Business Trade Shows and various meetings throughout the area. Due to the fact that weddings and events are typically scheduled on weekends, most of the scheduled hours for this position will also occur on weekends.

You must be a reliable person, maintain a business-professional appearance and provide your own transportation to and from Port Gamble. This position is ideal for someone attending college and looking to make a little income while gaining experience in the hospitality industry.

What the Seasonal Assistant position is:
·         Day-of event set-up and tear down
·         This job takes muscle!
·       Rolling, lifting, folding and unfolding of our tables and chairs (50 lbs, min)
·         Light cleaning of facilities including occasional garbage runs
·         Occasional assistance in administrative duties
·         $10/hour
·         Anywhere from 20-39 hours a week

What the Seasonal Assistant position isn’t:
·         Glamorous, “J-Lo”-style wedding planning
·         Full time
·         Benefits

Here’s what we want:
·         Resume
·         Cover Letter
·         Letter of recommendation from a previous employer (preferably local to the North Kitsap area)
·         Three references --Two personal, one business (preferably locals to the North Kitsap area)
From your submissions, we should see that you have your High School diploma, Associate Degree (or higher) in a business or customer service-related field.

If you grab our attention, we’ll be in touch. Send us an e-mail (feel free to send in a photo, we love putting a “face to a name”) and we can get things started.

Advice after the "Snopocalypse 2012"

Hindsight is 20/20.
Advice you know now and wished you'd known then.
What other washed-out terms could we use? Plenty, we're sure.
Well, now that the full-force snow gale is dwindling to a drift, here is some advice that we know now.
Photos in the snowy winter wonderland are beautiful.
But, you don't have to suffer for fashion.
Here are some beautiful wintry ideas that will keep you looking cool, but won't lead to pneumonia.
We wouldn't want you missing out on your honeymoon.

Enjoy dressing in shawls and gloves! The perks are they can be absolutely gorgeous and they cover any red blotches on your skin created by cold exposure.

But, if you are going to go without a shawl or gloves, make sure to warm up with cute boots or leg warmers.

And, as always, make sure you have a warm, hot Cuppa

Once old, once new again

VINTAGE is easy.
vintage is history.
vintage is ArtSy.
vintage is classy.

It may not be a new movement; however, what once was old always has a place to be made new, again. Play with it. Pick your style. Create, twist, add sparkle and shine to an idea that already was.

“Any fool can do something cool and look cool,
but it takes skill to make something uncool cool again.”

It's your wedding. Your lovely, big day. Likely, you've been dreaming into existence all the beautiful details, intimate touches and meaningful charm. As the waiting gets shorter, the days seem to be approaching with a quickened pace. It becomes easy to stress about all the small things that once made you smile. Take a break. Relax. Smile. Laugh.
Comic Relief does so much for your whole being.
Need a suggestion?
