The Heart

IF YOU HAVE A LITTLE GIRL: On my 16th bday, my dad gave me a half heart necklace and kept half of it. My half was attached to my bouquet on my wedding day. At the reception, he surprised us by giving his half to Chris. He literally passed down the responsibility of holding on to my heart. (Tucking this away for our girls. I love this idea…)

Lovely Monday Notes

"Love isn't practical. It isn't meant to be easy. It doesn't appear on command. It doesn't let you fall for whomever you'd like. It surfaces neither at the most opportune moment not in the most convenient. It'll pair you with someone you might never have expected. It'll put you face to face with endless obstacles. But in the end, none of that will matter because it's how you overcome those obstacles that will define your love. It may not be practical, but love is ultimately the best thing that will ever happen to you."

DIY- Nature's Candle Cozy

Sometimes it’s the simplest of ideas that make the best, like this idea called “nature’s candle cozy”. Colorful autumn leaves wrapped around votives secured with ribbon or raffia makes the perfect accent  for an autumn wedding tablescape. No need to look further than your local craft store and backyard for a few of the supplies. Pick the brightest red and gold leaves to use. Not only is this simple, it is earth friendly, too.

Lovely Monday Notes

Sounds of wedding bells

They waited sixteen long years
For the sounds of wedding bells
The wedding bells ring, dingdong, dingdong
The wedding bells sing, dingdong, dingdong
For all to hear strikingly clear
Hold your silence and wish them well

It is the sounds of wedding bells
This aged love birds have been waiting for
Once unofficial honeys
From this point declared official
In this matrimonial ceremony

I wish them well
Their braveness is my acknowledgement
Their enduring fight is my guiding light
Their victory will go down in history
Together they compliment and compliment
Each other like a perfect pair of fitting shoes

One way or another they already knew
Long before the sound of wedding bells
They would love each other till the very end

So listen to the sound of wedding bells
As they sing dingdong, dingdong
Perhaps for you it wouldn’t be long!

You are a piece of the puzzle of someone else's life.
You may never know where you fit,

their lives with pieces of you.

Signature Drink of the Week

Alcohol:

2 oz Bourbon
0.5oz lemon juice
0.5oz maple syrup
1 oz fresh organic apple juice
1 oz passionfruit juice
¼ oz campari
1t honey
Shake and strain. Serve in rocks glass with large ice cubes. Garnish speared apple-slices.

Non-Alcohol:

Apple Cider

This drink is perfect for apple season and will pair beautifully with your Fall Wedding meal. Still or sparkling apple cider will be available at almost any grocery store. Just be sure to pick up a jug before the supply runs out! Another idea is to offer cups of hot cinnamon apple cider to accompany dessert. To make these non-alcoholic drinks for your Wedding, simply heat up some non-sparkling apple cider on the stove. Then pop a cinnamon stick into each guest’s mug and pour the hot cider over it.

Enjoy your Wedding Day with a signature drink!
